Absolut Vodka is known for its high-quality production, using winter wheat distilled on four-story high column stills with generous copper contact for purity. Founded in 1879 by Lars Olsson Smith, the brand was originally called Absolut Rent Brännvin and later became Absolut Vodka in 1979. Their production philosophy, called One Source, emphasizes that all production occurs in and around Åhus, Sweden, where an impressive distillery produces over 100 million liters of vodka each year as part of Pernod Ricard.
